About
I’m Mia Wexford, an IT security professional based in Australia with a passion for digital privacy and VPN technology. I earned my degree in Information Technology from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where I developed a strong foundation in network systems, cybersecurity, and secure communications.
For over fifteen years, I’ve been immersed in the field of IT security, combining technical expertise with hands-on problem solving:
2008–2012: As a Network Administrator and Security Analyst at a major Australian telecommunications company, I gained in-depth knowledge of ISP operations, network infrastructure, and data security practices.
2012–2016: Working as an IT Security Consultant for small and medium businesses across Melbourne, I implemented security solutions, performed vulnerability assessments, and trained staff to strengthen organizational cybersecurity.
2016–Present: I operate as an independent Security Consultant and Educator, specialising in VPN technologies and personal privacy protection. My work includes security audits, one-on-one consultations, content creation, and ongoing research into emerging online threats.
Alongside my technical work, I am actively involved in privacy advocacy in Australia. I contribute to public discussions on data retention laws, participate in cybersecurity forums, and collaborate with privacy-focused organisations to promote digital rights and responsible online practices.
My focus remains on creating practical, accessible solutions that empower individuals, families, and businesses to stay secure online. Through my work, I strive to make strong digital privacy the standard, not a luxury.
